The Language Center of the Fundaci\u00f3n Universitaria Mar\u00eda Cano, under the regulations of Education for Work and Human Development, has established an admission profile for students of the Academic Knowledge Programs in English A1, A2, B1, and B2, as described below.<\/p>\n

Admission Profile for the Academic Knowledge Program in English A1<\/strong>
The student of the Academic Knowledge Program in English A1 must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Be at least 16 years old<\/li>\n
  2. Possess reading and writing skills<\/li>\n
  3. Hold a high school diploma or at least have completed and passed the ninth grade<\/li>\n
  4. Demonstrate basic computer skills, including proficiency in office tools for text editing, creating presentations, managing email, and browsing online<\/li>\n
  5. Have a computer, camera, headset with microphone, and good internet connectivity for live interaction on our English language platforms<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    General Competencies<\/strong>
    Upon entering the program, the student is expected to be aware of the importance of the ability to learn (knowing how to learn), which involves observing and participating in new experiences, incorporating new knowledge into existing knowledge. Language learning abilities are developed throughout the learning experience, enabling, among other things, reflection on the language system and communication, general phonetic skills, study skills, and discovery and analysis skills. (CEFR 2002, p. 104)<\/p>\n

    In this initial program, the student does not need to demonstrate previously acquired linguistic competencies in the target language, as these will be acquired during the program.<\/p>\n

    Admission Profile for the Academic Knowledge Program in English A2<\/strong>
    The student of the Academic Knowledge Program in English A2 must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Be at least 16 years old<\/li>\n
    2. Possess reading and writing skills<\/li>\n
    3. Hold a high school diploma or at least have completed and passed the ninth grade<\/li>\n
    4. Demonstrate basic computer skills, including proficiency in office tools for text editing, creating presentations, managing email, and browsing online<\/li>\n
