What is Public Accounting?<\/h2>\n

The Public Accounting Program of the Maria Cano University Foundation considers accounting as the social science in charge of supporting transactions between natural and legal individuals. It allows this program to be approached from two aspects: its material and formal object. The material object is related to other areas of knowledge such as economics, finances and engineering. On the other hand, the formal object is focused on the administration of resources for the generation, proper management and distribution of wealth that organizations have by promoting an environment of trust in the different interest groups through the efficient management of resources and wealth, and the control of the operations carried out with these.<\/p>\n

The public accountant of the Maria Cano University Foundation is prepared to respond to social and organizational needs framed in sustainability, transparency and the generation of shared value, local and international regulations, in environments of change and uncertainty. In this way, the curriculum is organized with emphasis on the financial area, control and assurance, costs and tax management, which are aspects of the public accountant performance, articulated with other areas of knowledge to develop in the students the critical sense towards the solution of problems in their environment. In addition, there are other courses that develop the soft skills necessary in today’s professionals which will strengthen the professional development of the accountant, facing the needs of society and organizations today.<\/p>\n

The Maria Cano University Foundation offers to the future professionals in Public Accounting the possibility of transforming their capabilities for strategic decision making in public and private organizations, in relation to finance and accounting management, with a clear orientation towards social responsibility and the solution of organizational problems in a creative and innovative way that allows them to respond to the needs of companies in a highly changing, complex and globalized environment.<\/p>\n

The Program offers flexibility and interdisciplinarity alternatives for students, highlighting the possibility of being trained in mixed schedules from Monday to Friday (between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., and 6:00\u00a0p.m. and 10:00 p.m.) and eventually on Saturdays; taking subjects in Mariacanovirtual under 100% virtual modality; institutional services and aids; institutional platform to interact with subjects in virtual modality. The Program has professors with Master’s and Doctorate degrees and knowledge in agile learning methodologies, which generate an innovative environment in the academic processes, supported by the innovation and entrepreneurship classroom, the administrative, financial and accounting office and all the ICT tools supported by the computer classrooms, with accounting information systems for the proper application of the accounting process.<\/p>\n
