This knowledge creation is expressed as long as it meets the requirements of a higher education institution by means of a common set: teaching, continuing education or extension, and research. The production quality in each of these fields, inclusive one another, is the result of a rigorous process that the institution develops with the perseverance required by the academy.<\/p>\n

Being aware that publications have been the most appropriate vehicle for spreading knowledge throughout history, the Mar\u00eda Cano Chair Publishing Fund published the first issue of the University Virtual Magazine in 2003 with the aim of disseminating the results of academic activity As it happens with every good start, seeing such a happy birth of this project come true provided great satisfaction, but we were aware that it had to be consolidated and given continuity over time.<\/p>\n

As a result, the dissemination has become one of the most important challenges for the Mar\u00eda Cano University Foundation, since it makes no sense to produce knowledge if it is not properly disseminated and provides a social benefit.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=\u00bb1\/2″][vc_single_image image=\u00bb11655″ img_size=\u00bbmedium\u00bb][vc_empty_space][vc_btn title=\u00bbClick here to know the Virtual Magazine Ed.1 year 18″ color=\u00bbpurple\u00bb link=\u00bburl:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.fumc.edu.co%2Fdocumentos%2Fpublicaciones%2Frevista_virtual_universitaria_n1_ano18_1.pdf|||\u00bb][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]Since its beginnings, the magazine has an Editorial Committee that is responsible for defining editorial and publishing policies, reviewing the contents in order to ensure their editorial line and quality.<\/p>\n

By decision of the Editorial Committee in the second half of 2006, it is determined that a stronger job on the theme of the graphic interface should be done. With this objective in mind, the company Infomedia was hired giving as a result, the presentation to the public in 2007 of a Flash-format magazine. Later, in the second half of 2008 the third edition of the magazine is presented, with video and audio, and with a more user-friendly interface.<\/p>\n

In summary, the Virtual University Magazine is an electronic publication, duly registered, with ISSN 1794-1547, every six months on the Web, with the aim of creating a digital and interactive environment of information in which works, comments and articles of general interest related to Health, Business, Entertainment, History, Research, Education, Politics, Science and Technology are published.
