This first academic term of 2022, the LEAMOS Academic Reading and Writing Center opens its doors again to the university community for the third consecutive year. Leamos, more than an internship center, is an opportunity for the students, professors, graduates and managerial or administrative staff of the Mar\u00eda Cano University Foundation to have a space where they can closely relate to academic reading and writing.<\/p>\n

LEAMOS is an academic space created to provide advice and tutoring to the entire university community, founded with the purpose of supporting the strengthening of academic reading and writing processes. LEAMOS, assuming these processes as social practices, seeks to promote quality tools that encourage the generation of autonomous professionals, endowed with extensive skills in these areas, so that they stand out in their professional environment for their communicative exercise.<\/p>\n

Therefore, from a science, consumption and production of knowledge approach, an approximation with the university community is promoted through the dissemination of unpublished material, advice to teachers, workshops on induced demand, permanent workshops and personalized tutorials. Thus, LEAMOS and its entire team are always available to the attention of the educational community of the Mar\u00eda Cano University Foundation, to be a guide and support in the heuristic development of the entire community.<\/p>\n

This is exactly the raison d’\u00eatre of the team at the Leamos Academic Reading and Writing Center: to support the training process for professionals at the Mar\u00eda Cano University Foundation. Currently, two professors along with 11 interns from the sixth and seventh semesters of the Speech Therapy Program are responsible for accompanying the university community, and the challenge of promoting and encouraging a transformation in the way of thinking and doing academic reading and writing.<\/p>\n

The LEAMOS Academic Reading and Writing Center has multiple means of communication with the university community, through which the entire Mar\u00eda Cano community can learn about and access the services:<\/p>\n

Its main communication tool with the university community for the assignment of some tutoring is done through the institutional email leamos@fumc.edu.co<\/a><\/p>\n

Each tutorial lasts forty-five (45) minutes, so you must always take into account your office hours, which, despite being already established, can also be flexible according to the needs and availability of the university community.<\/p>\n
