The Mar\u00eda Cano University Foundation at its Neiva and Popay\u00e1n campuses, in coordination with the University of Pamplona, \u200b\u200bstrengthens the relationship with the external sector to contribute to the needs of the different productive sectors of the regions where it is present, making an impact with its academic programs; Through the Fisioter Research Group, the project is currently being developed: \u00abMusculoskeletal disorders associated with body composition and ergonomic risk of coffee pickers\u00bb, a project that takes as a sample the people who work with the grain in the department of Huila , more specifically in the municipalities of Teruel, Garz\u00f3n, La Plata and San Agust\u00edn, as part of the municipalities of the new axis of the Colombian coffee map. This intervention, which evidences the social projection of the members of the university community, will allow institutional visibility and the delivery of knowledge through the study of human body movement.<\/p>\n

These projects, which are led from the coordination of the Mar\u00eda Cano headquarters, are in full coherence with the objectives of sustainable development and the orange economy of the department, which have cultural, social and economic tools, strengthening related agriculture with Colombian coffee, while contributing to the strategic initiatives embodied in the institutional development plan and with the great example that is the inspiring Mar\u00eda de los \u00c1ngeles Cano M\u00e1rquez, who was always committed to education, care and well-being of all workers in the country.<\/p>\n

The first field trip, of this work of social projection and service to impact the community, allowed the researchers and research assistant to experience the daily life of a collector, an environment that shows the tradition and coffee culture, which have inherited to the workers in this work of collecting such precious fruit and that will allow the institution to work for this sector through the early identification of musculoskeletal disorders.<\/p>\n
