The Physiotherapy program of the Mar\u00eda Cano University Foundation, Neiva headquarters, develops training workshops aimed at caregivers of people with disabilities with the purpose of recognizing the practice of physical activity and adapted sports as a tool for promoting the inclusion of all the people who make up society. This new program \u00abPhysical activity and inclusive sport in disability\u00bb is led by the teacher Sergio Alejandro Quijano Duarte and seeks active participation by the population through the practice of healthy lifestyles and adapted sports, fully consolidated, structured and permanent, with sufficient capacity to absorb the potential flow of people who wish to practice physical activity to guarantee better living conditions and well-being, which is a commitment from the different academic programs of the Institution.<\/p>\n

The program arises as an initiative of the Mar\u00eda Cano University Foundation to address different real situations in the population such as the presence of cardiovascular risk and non-communicable diseases in the population with sedentary disabilities and athletes; low participation in physical activity and in disciplines that allow the practice of exercise; specific problems in areas of development of basic motor skills and body outline and everything related to the accompaniment provided to the population so that they take care of their health and recognize the importance of movement in their daily lives.<\/p>\n

Mar\u00eda Cano recognizes, from the health area programs, that physical activity favors human development, contributes positively to physical health, management of psychological and social situations, having a favorable impact on personal relationships and the strengthening of collective identity, mental health and the perception of quality of life of families, which are the central axis of harmony and social well-being.<\/p>\n

Once again, Mar\u00eda Cano in the city of Neiva is a leader in carrying out different activities that seek to selflessly accompany the inhabitants of this important region of Colombia, generating spaces, culture and healthy lifestyles for all the population.<\/p>\n
