{"id":12410,"date":"2023-06-13T13:52:22","date_gmt":"2023-06-13T13:52:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fumc.edu.co\/en\/?p=12410"},"modified":"2023-06-13T13:52:22","modified_gmt":"2023-06-13T13:52:22","slug":"important-publication-of-the-psyche-and-society-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fumc.edu.co\/en\/important-publication-of-the-psyche-and-society-group\/","title":{"rendered":"Important publication of the Psyche and Society group"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The researchers Esperanza Mar\u00eda Gonz\u00e1lez Mar\u00edn, Juliana Andrea Montoya Ot\u00e1lvaro and M\u00f3nica Alexandra Cadavid Buitrago from the Psychology program of the Mar\u00eda Cano University Foundation, Medell\u00edn headquarters, have published the article: \u00abBorderline personality disorder (BPD), early adverse experiences and biases cognitive disorders: a systematic review\u00bb, in The Journal of Research and Innovation in Health Sciences &#8211; RIICS.<\/p>\n<p>In this paper, the authors present a systematic review on the role of early adverse experiences, such as abuse, neglect, and abandonment, as risk factors in the development of borderline personality disorder. BPD is a mental disorder characterized by unstable relationships, impulsive behavior, and intense emotions. Recent research supports the idea that early adverse experiences can lead to neurodevelopmental changes, which contribute to the wide range of BPD symptoms and to cognitive biases, such as distorted ways of thinking, which in turn affect the course of symptoms. . For example, individuals with BPD may have a negative view of themselves, believe that they are unlovable, or have difficulty trusting others. These cognitive biases hinder the ability of people with BPD to cope with stress and maintain healthy relationships.<\/p>\n<p>RIICS is a Latin American scientific journal, refereed, of the health professions, whose purpose is to be a disciplinary communication channel of original articles, review and reflection derived from research processes that provide evidence to respond to current needs and problems.
