The Physioter research group of the Mar\u00eda Cano University Foundation, at the Medell\u00edn headquarters, participated in the 17th World Congress of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, 31st ACMFR Colombian Congress and 3rd Ibero-American Congress, held in Cartagena de Indias. On this occasion, the work called \u00abProblems of kinematics in transtibial prosthetic systems\u00bb was presented, the result of the advances in the framework of the project \u00abDesign of a prosthesis that adjusts to the conditions of the Colombian agricultural context in order to restore the conditions of victims of improvised explosive devices\u00bb funded by Minciencias.<\/p>\n

This product is the result of the research cooperation of Mar\u00eda Cano with the EAFIT University, the National Learning Service Sena and the University of Antioquia; It was developed by researchers Fanny Valencia Legarda (Fisioter de la Mar\u00eda Cano), Jes\u00fas Alberto Plata Contreras (UdeA.), Camilo Andr\u00e9s P\u00e1ramo Vel\u00e1squez (Tecnoparque Sena Nodo Medell\u00edn), Yessika Ortega Bedoya (Eafit University). The Congress, had as its central axis the \u00abNew perspectives in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for the challenges of global health\u00bb representing the intention to focus on the current and future rehabilitation health needs of people around the world.<\/p>\n

The World Congress of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation was also the space for the National Congress (ACMF&R) as well as the meeting with several Ibero-American societies and speakers with great international experience, which made possible a first-class academic and scientific congress that allowed sharing not only the advances and knowledge in physical medicine and rehabilitation, but also cultural experiences.<\/p>\n

Professor and researcher Fanny Valencia Legarda is a professional with more than 22 years of experience in the educational setting, where she has worked in teaching and research activities, particularly in the formulation and execution of R+D+i projects under the standards of quality proposed by Minciencias. His main contribution from the investigative processes has been around the construction of knowledge and the solution of problems related to human body movement, within the thematic axes of biomechanics, neurorehabilitation, ergonomics, oncology, design and validation. of biomedical devices for mobility.<\/p>\n
