In a formal ceremony held at the Medell\u00edn headquarters, the Mar\u00eda Cano University Foundation paid tribute to the memory of the professor, researcher, academic, business strategist and planning advisor, Dr. Humberto Serna G\u00f3mez, who died on Sunday, July 30, 2023. The book \u00abHumberto Serna G\u00f3mez: Testimony of a Teacher\u00bb written by Mr. Esteban Cruz Ni\u00f1o was presented, in which the life of the teacher is remembered from his birth in the municipality of El Santuario, his studies, his life in Medell\u00edn and his Work experience at a regional, national and international level in different organizations and representing Colombia.<\/p>\n

In the tribute, the Mar\u00eda Cano Award – Posthumous Tribute, in the Life and Work category, was also presented to Dr. Serna, exalting his dedication and invaluable contributions to the quality of the academic processes of the Mar\u00eda Cano University Foundation. For his career, experience and knowledge dedicated to investigative work, which transformed the individual and social conditions of many communities and with the great satisfaction of achieving recognition from the Ministry of Sciences, Technology and Innovation. The award was received by the founder and wife of the late professor, Norela Hern\u00e1ndez de Serna.<\/p>\n

The president of the Superior Council, Ligia Gonz\u00e1lez Betancur, highlighted during the recognition that Dr. Humberto Serna G\u00f3mez was always characterized by a life at the service of education, and the community, a man of immense human qualities, for his entrepreneurial character, dreamer and innovator, who always distinguished himself for his values \u200b\u200band principles, who today leaves a legacy and a path for high quality in the Mar\u00eda Cano University Foundation. For this reason, he is deserving of this award as he represents the institutional philosophy and actions of Mar\u00eda de los \u00c1ngeles Cano M\u00e1rquez, as a social leader of Colombia.<\/p>\n
