The Speech Therapy program at the Neiva headquarters, within the framework of the ASOFONO strategy in the regions, led by the Colombian Speech Therapy Association, received a virtual conference from President Roc\u00edo Molina Bejer, who presented the work carried out by the association in which implies the recognition of speech therapy work from different areas, sectors and roles; In addition, the importance of student participation and their connection to the association was highlighted in order to make this work visible in all regions of the country.<\/p>\n

Participating students and teachers were also invited to participate in the International Congress of Speech Therapy. These actions favor the relationship between the Mar\u00eda Cano University Foundation and the Colombian Association of Speech Therapy in favor of the growth and recognition of the program at a regional, national and international level.<\/p>\n

The Colombian Association of Speech Therapy was created in 1969, with the purpose of promoting and strengthening the development of this important profession in the health area, which is regulated under the guidelines of Law 376 of 1997. Asofono, was founded by speech therapists who graduated from the National University of Colombia and the Colombian School of Rehabilitation, which at that time had an agreement with the Universidad del Rosario, and is a founding and active member of the National Association of Health Professionals (ASSOSALUD).<\/p>\n
