The Mar\u00eda Cano University Foundation held a presentation of the public bilingualism policy in the Villa Nueva district of the municipality of Yolomb\u00f3, aimed at students, parents, teachers, and community leaders.
The Director of Projects, Sandra Milena Garc\u00eda Molina, and the Coordinator of the Language Center, Paola Andrea Garc\u00eda Mar\u00edn, presented the public bilingualism policy to students from grades 9, 10, and 11, who actively participated in the socialization of the policy.<\/p>\n

The educational community, including parents, teachers, and regional leaders, also participated in the event to learn about this important educational initiative in the Villa Nueva district.
The public policy has been developed since 2024 in collaboration with the Yolomb\u00f3 Secretary of Education and the Yolomb\u00f3 Municipality. During the socialization, the importance of this policy, its objectives, and the benefits the community will gain in the short, medium, and long term were emphasized.
From the feedback and requests identified through this dialogue, the unanimous perception was that having only one English class a week is not enough to achieve proficiency in the language. Students expressed the need for more resources and dedicated time to learning English in order to truly master the language.<\/p>\n

Finally, students were encouraged to take that first step towards learning a second language, in this case, English, whether by enrolling in a free course, practicing with friends, or using online apps.
