<\/p>\nThe Meeting of Digital Ecosystems \u2013 Colombia 4.0: Digital Territories, organized by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MinTIC), is the most important event for technology and digital transformation in the country. In 2025, it celebrates its 15th edition, consolidating itself as a strategic space for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and the strengthening of Colombia\u2019s digital economy. This year, the event expanded to 11 departments, and on August 27 and 28, it took place in Cauca, at the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications of the University of Cauca, in Popay\u00e1n.<\/p>\n
The Popay\u00e1n campus of Fundaci\u00f3n Universitaria Mar\u00eda Cano participated on August 27 with a keynote presentation titled \u00abEducational Innovation Laboratory in Health Sciences Programs\u00bb, an initiative that stems from a research project led by professors Mar\u00eda Fernanda Ortiz Cabrera and Elizabeth Rold\u00e1n Gonz\u00e1lez (FISIOTER research group), along with educational advisor Dr. Beatriz Elena Arias Vanegas (Psique y Sociedad research group), and co-researcher Luz Marina Chalapud Narv\u00e1ez from the Corporaci\u00f3n Universitaria Aut\u00f3noma del Cauca.<\/p>\n

The Educational Innovation Laboratory is structured as an interdisciplinary space that promotes the collaborative creation of open digital educational resources, incorporating methodologies such as design thinking. Its aim is to generate innovative pedagogical solutions that address the current challenges of higher education, enhancing the quality of training, the social appropriation of knowledge, and the development of a culture of innovation that directly impacts teaching and learning processes in the health sciences.<\/p>\n
On August 28, the Mar\u00eda Cano delegation, made up of students from the SIBITEC research group, actively participated in presentations and meetings held in the auditoriums of the host institution, where topics related to innovation, digital transformation, and high-impact technological advances for the country were discussed.<\/p>\n
Attendees also had the opportunity to experience immersive technologies and witness demonstrations in robotics and artificial intelligence applications, showcasing the potential of technology as a driver of social and economic development.<\/p>\n
The participation of the academic community of Mar\u00eda Cano in Colombia 4.0 left a highly positive impression, not only for bringing students closer to digital innovation dynamics but also for highlighting the institution’s commitment to educational innovation.
