The Mar\u00eda Cano University Foundation received official notification from the National Accreditation Council (CNA) approving the Initial Institutional Conditions, allowing the Institution to move forward on the path toward Multicampus Institutional Accreditation, thanks to its presence in the cities of Medell\u00edn, Cali, Neiva, and Popay\u00e1n.<\/p>\n
Following the evaluation visit conducted on November 26, 2025, and the comprehensive analysis of institutional information, the CNA\u2019s General Chamber concluded that Mar\u00eda Cano meets the necessary conditions to begin the self-evaluation stage for high-quality accreditation, in accordance with the provisions of Agreement 02 of 2020 and the Institutional Accreditation Procedure Guide.<\/p>\n
During the initial conditions visit, the National Accreditation Council recognized Mar\u00eda Cano as a solid institution, academically and administratively consolidated, with a coherent multicampus model that integrates its campuses in Medell\u00edn, Cali, Neiva, and Popay\u00e1n under a shared philosophical framework and a common educational project, adapted to regional contexts.<\/p>\n
The CNA placed special emphasis on the institutional culture of quality, supported by processes of self-regulation and continuous improvement, led by the Internal Quality Assurance System (SIAC), which integrates planning, evaluation, and strategic decision-making aimed at academic strengthening and social relevance.<\/p>\n
Likewise, the trajectory and strength of the academic offerings were recognized, especially in the areas of Health Sciences, where the Institution has been a pioneer in programs such as Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Psychology, and Occupational Therapy, as well as the significant progress in programs accredited for high quality, which represent more than 63% of Mar\u00eda Cano\u2019s accreditable programs across its different campuses.<\/p>\n
In the areas of teaching, research, and social outreach, the CNA highlighted the impact of projects developed in the territories, the articulation with communities and external sectors, the strengthening of research through groups recognized by MinCiencias, the active participation of students in research seedbeds, and the social contribution through initiatives that benefit thousands of people in the regions where the Institution is present.<\/p>\n
Similarly, positive recognition was given to the multicampus academic management model, student and faculty mobility between campuses, progress in internationalization processes, aligned communication among campuses, modern physical and technological infrastructure, financial stability, and institutional well-being strategies, all of which contribute to a favorable environment for learning, retention, and the holistic development of the university community.<\/p>\n
With this decision, the Mar\u00eda Cano University Foundation has one year to submit its institutional self-evaluation report, a key stage on the path toward Multicampus Institutional Accreditation, which will allow the continued consolidation of academic and administrative processes in coherence with the institutional identity and regional realities.<\/p>\n
This achievement is the result of the collective work of the rector\u2019s office, administrators, faculty, students, alumni, administrative staff, the productive sector, and strategic partners, while also reaffirming the institutional commitment to educating professionals with critical thinking, social commitment, and a glocal vision, in service of territorial development.<\/p>\n
The Institution expresses its sincere gratitude to all the stakeholders who have contributed to this process, recognizing their dedication, responsibility, and sense of belonging. Likewise, it invites the community to continue jointly building a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and social transformation.<\/p>\n
