Researcher Elizabeth Rold\u00e1n Gonz\u00e1lez participated as co-author of the article entitled \u201cDevelopment and preliminary validation of a multimodal instrument for spasticity quantification using a composite index: A pilot study,\u201d recently published in the scientific journal PLOS ONE, one of the world\u2019s most influential open-access journals, classified as Q1 according to the Scimago Journal Rank.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The article was co-authored by Juan Manuel Rosero \u00d1a\u00f1ez, Sabrina Schaly, Elizabeth Rold\u00e1n Gonz\u00e1lez, Mar\u00eda de los \u00c1ngeles Urbano D\u00edaz, and Juli\u00e1n Antonio Villamar\u00edn Mu\u00f1oz, as part of an interinstitutional and international collaborative effort that integrates interdisciplinary expertise from the health sciences and biomedical engineering fields.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">This study presents the development and preliminary validation of an innovative system for the objective quantification of spasticity in individuals with neurological conditions. The proposed instrument synchronously integrates surface electromyography, inertial sensors, and force measurement, consolidating these signals into a composite index that captures both the neuromuscular and biomechanical components of spasticity.
