In a significant step toward strengthening academic internationalization, the Mar\u00eda Cano University Foundation (FUMC) and the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC), Mexico, have formalized an International Dual Degree Agreement for the Master\u2019s in Physical Activity for Health. This strategic partnership will enable students from both institutions to earn a degree awarded by each university, significantly expanding their opportunities for academic development, international mobility, and professional advancement.<\/p>\n
This agreement represents far more than an institutional partnership; it is a commitment to academic excellence, knowledge exchange, and the development of international research networks. The agreement establishes mechanisms for curriculum equivalency, student mobility, co-supervision of graduate projects, and ongoing cooperation between the two universities, consolidating a long-term alliance that will benefit students, faculty members, and researchers in both Colombia and Mexico.<\/p>\n
The successful completion of this initiative was made possible through the collaborative work carried out during an academic visit to Tijuana, Mexico, within the framework of the International Congress of Sports Sciences, organized by the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC). During this international academic event, technical meetings, curriculum reviews, and working sessions were conducted, providing the foundation for structuring and finalizing the dual degree agreement.<\/p>\n
A key role in this process was played by Mar\u00eda Cano University Foundation Physiotherapy Program professors Javier Ignacio Garc\u00eda and Sebasti\u00e1n Grajales Toro, who represented the institution at the congress and led the academic efforts required to bring this important agreement to fruition. Their work strengthened the ties between both institutions, facilitated curriculum compatibility reviews, and advanced the development of a cooperation model that is now becoming a reality for future generations of students.<\/p>\n
The agreement allows students to complete part of their academic training at the partner institution through course equivalency and academic recognition processes, fostering the exchange of experiences, collaborative research, and education with an international perspective.
