The Maria Cano University Foundation received an award from the Mayor’s Office of Popayan with the Very Noble and Very Loyal City of Popayan Coat of Arms in its highest Heraldic Gold category, and from the Council with the Municipal Coat of Arms. These awards were granted to the institution because of its constant work, commitment and dedication to the education of the youth of the city. The activity was led by the mayor of Popayan, Cesar Cristian Gomez Castro who was represented by the Secretary of the Popayan Municipal Office, Claudia Ximena Garcia Navia. The President of the City Council, Carlos Enrique Guerrero Vela and councilman, Byron Mauricio Lema Ascuntar were also present.<\/p>\n
The acknowledgment was received by the Rector of The Maria Cano University Foundation, Hugo Alberto Valencia Porras, accompanied by the Campus Coordinator, Angelica Maria Zuluaga Calle and the Head of the Alumni Office, Jairo Hernan Meneses Ordo\u00f1ez; in which it was highlighted the work over twenty-two years in the capital of the department of Cauca, with the Physical Therapy Program and Business Administration and Public Accounting Virtual Undergraduates, in addition to a wide range of Postgraduate Courses offered through the Center for Advanced Training.<\/p>\n
Representatives of students, graduates, teachers and other members of the Institution attended the Council to ratify the teamwork and the constant commitment of The Maria Cano with quality and social responsibility.<\/p>\n
