As part of the responsibility and Social commitment, the María Cano University Foundation in the capital of Cauca, students, professors and administrators work on strategies of attention to inhabitants of the city, through the University Social Volunteering – VOSUN – which is made up of people committed to bringing well-being, prevention activities, care and support to various sectors of society.

During the first weekend of October, they again went to the most vulnerable sectors of Popayán to carry out activities focused on street dwellers, a health brigade was developed, which had the support of different institutions, such as the mayor’s office of Popayán, the city’s firefighters, the Colombian army, the Colombian Civil Defense, the Quality for the Future Foundation – FUNCAFU, the Mi Colombia Social Assistance Foundation, the Fundación Grupo Corazones Amigos, the Mauros Technical Labor and Business Institute, the members from the community Emergency Scout Team, the Semillas de Vida Foundation, and Zafrán, among other organizations that allowed an event to be held with great success thanks to their support and collaboration.

The Popayán campus and the entire university community that integrates it, sees this work as a direct alignment with the philosophy and institutional principles of equity, respect, leadership, excellence, leadership, transparency and responsibility; characterizing María Cano as a higher education institution that is committed to the development of these social activities, which allow them to contribute to the training of future professionals with a greater human sense and brotherhood towards the inhabitants of the country.
