The María Cano University Foundation, through the Special Social Programs Unit – UPSE – and the Secretariat for Social Inclusion, Family and Human Rights, is committed to an outstanding commitment of the Mayor’s Office of Medellín, which seeks to provide psychosocial care to adults vulnerable people who are at risk in the municipality of Medellín, to improve their quality of life, generating and strengthening protective factors, as well as preventing and mitigating risk factors, with a large human development component.
The project seeks to develop empowerment processes to reduce the violation of people’s rights and generate strategies that allow the recognition of the inhabitants of the most humble sectors of the city. Likewise, psychosocial care is provided to people in vulnerable situations, to improve their quality of life, in aspects such as education, health, employability and entrepreneurship, among others.
During the project, citizens access intervention phases, based on the offer of institutional services of the Mayor’s Office, where they are offered: identification, habitability, nutrition through the Good Start Program, health, family dynamics, education, training, counseling for work, banking, savings and access to justice.
The María Cano University Foundation is proud to be part of this municipal administration program that seeks to provide well-being to the inhabitants of the capital of Antioquia.
