At the María Cano University Foundation, Neiva headquarters, pre-practice activities are carried out that allow students of the Neuromuscular I subject to approach pediatric patients through the observation and application of stimuli to obtain pediatric reflex responses according to motor age, at the same time that they perform the applicability of the Alberta Infant Motor Scale (AIMS) in order to quantitatively assess and estimate typical or atypical motor development in infants; In this work of great social projection, professional dedication and accompaniment to the community, they are guided and oriented by the Master’s professor in Neurorehabilitation Mónica Vannesa Chanagá Gelves.
In the Neuromuscular II subject, the students of the physiotherapy program in the capital of Huila, also carry out their pre-practice with adult neurological population with motor deficit of hemiplegia and quadriplegia, an activity that is carried out in collaboration with the Boccia League and users of the scenarios of the teaching-service agreements, in order to practice Neurological Semiology under the guidance of the APTA format and the Fulg Meyer scale; reinforcing knowledge from the approach, assessment and analysis of user responses.
Future professionals who from María Cano put their knowledge, commitment and ability to deliver at the service of the community.
