Work to expand the institutional academic offer

The María Cano University Foundation is committed to presenting the community with an excellent undergraduate and postgraduate training proposal, to contribute to the development of the regions and the inhabitants who are the protagonists in the social, scientific, economic and cultural growth of Colombia. It is for this reason that on April 4, 5 and 6 the Institution receives the visit of academic peers, assigned by the Ministry of National Education, to obtain the Qualified Records for the programs of: Nutrition and Dietetics (in Medellín and Popayán) and specializations in Sports Physiotherapy and Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy. We are advancing with all the objectives outlined in the 2017 – 2026 Development Plan.
For the Nutrition and Dietetics program at the Popayán campus, María Cano receives María Victoria Benjumea Rincón, who is a teacher and advisor at the University of Antioquia, Nutritionist – Dietitian of the same institution, has a Specialization in Coffee Economics from the Autonomous University of Manizales and a Doctorate in Health Sciences from the National School of Public Health in Havana – Cuba.
For the Nutrition and Dietetics program at the Medellín campus, the academic peer appointed by the Ministry of National Education is Piedad Luz Morales Marino, who is a Nutritionist – Dietitian from the Metropolitan University of Barranquilla, has a Specialization in Business Administration from the University Antonio Nariño, an International MBA in Agrifood Business Management from the Camilo José Cela University in Spain and a Master’s in Education from the Metropolitan University of Barranquilla, where he works as a teacher, as well as at the Universidad del Atlántico.
The Specialization in Sports Physiotherapy receives the academic peer Fabián Andrés Contreras Jauregui, who has the following training: he is a Physiotherapist from the Manuela Beltrán University of Bucaramanga, Specialist in Sports Training from the University of Pamplona and Doctor in Physical Culture Sciences from the Manuel Fajardo University of Physical Culture and Sports Sciences of Havana – Cuba. He currently works as a teacher at the Universidad del Atlántico.
The Specialization in Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy will work during these three days, in search of qualified registration, with Professor Carmen Quijano, who is a Physiotherapist from the Metropolitan University of Barranquilla, a Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Specialist from the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario and has a Master’s Degree in Human and Organizational Development Administration from the Technological University of Pereira; He currently works with the Simón Bolívar University in the city of Barranquilla.
In this way, María Cano advances in the process of consolidating its academic offer for the entire community in Colombia; The visit will be attended and led by the Academic Vice President and the different support areas at the national level.
