In Cali we are with the Geriatric Hospital and Elderly San Miguel E.S.E.

Accompanying the community, putting the knowledge of future professionals at the service of those most in need and ensuring community well-being is one of the great commitments of the university community of the María Cano University Foundation, for this reason students and professors of the Physiotherapy in the capital of Valle del Cauca made a visit to the San Miguel E.S.E. Geriatric and Nursing Hospital, where recreational activities were carried out, care for the elderly and a donation of supplies that will allow them to have a better quality of life.
Professor Leydin Carolina Vásquez Henao, from the internship coordination, and Professor Carlos Eduardo Domínguez Torres, from the institutional welfare area, led the activity, with the respective management before the Scientific Deputy Manager of the San Miguel E.S.E Geriatric Hospital and Nursing Home, Jennifer Cruz , integrating the members of the university community so that they would deliver their knowledge to the service of those who reside in this place, in accordance with the actions of the inspiration of the Institution, María de los Ángeles Cano Márquez, who always ensured the greeting, education , the care and well-being of the least favored people in society.
A total of 35 students from the María Cano Physiotherapy program participated in the activity, together with the two teachers in charge, who performed dynamics and dances with the accompaniment of the dance teacher, Nicolás Mosquera Avendaño; having a special space for the celebration of mothers day in this town. More than 60 older adults were able to evidence the quality of the work carried out by the Institution and lived the experience of care, respect and dialogue with the young people, who expressed to them the importance they have for society.
The María Cano University Foundation, with this type of activity evidences and ratifies the institutional principles of respect, equity, excellence, leadership, transparency and responsibility.
