First podcast contest 2022 «Leamos Literario»

The LEAMOS Academic Reading and Writing Center invited the university community of the María Cano University Foundation to participate in the First “Literary Voices” Podcast Contest, as part of the commemoration of World Book, Language and Human Rights Day. From author. Accepting the challenge that technology imposes, LEAMOS ventures into the use of ICT to expand the impact on the university community, through a podcast contest that sought to invite different actors from the University to connect through a literary personification, which was carried out thanks to the free software «ANCHOR» where the recordings and editions of each of the episodes were made, which were later broadcast through Spotify, Google Podcast and other digital platforms provided for this purpose.
The purpose of the strategy was aimed at generating a space for linking reading and writing as social practices, from the academic and literary fields. In this way, LEAMOS fulfills one of its lines of work, referring to non-academic reading and writing, understanding in this that it is not possible to separate it from the exercise of a university environment. This initiative was in charge of LEAMOS tutors and advisors, who generated content about different literary characters through prosopography and etopeia. These texts were presented to the different participants, who recorded their section with the support of the Reading and Writing Center team, which was edited and uploaded to the cloud to be presented on the institutional platforms and social networks.
Among the characters selected for the creation of the PODCAST were chosen:
- The Picture of Dorian Gray: Dorian Gray
- Perfume: Jean-Baptiste Grenouille
- The Bible: Saint Peter
- Alice in Wonderland: Hatter
- Romeo and Juliet: Romeo
- One Hundred Years of Solitude: Melquiades
- Fifty Shades of Grey: Anastasia Steele
- The Little Prince: Zorro
- Harry Potter: Lord Voldemort
- Under the same star: Augustus Waters
The different episodes were made public through the LEAMOS channel on Spotify, and were linked to Instagram so that the followers of this social network could vote for their favorite. The results of this process made it possible to determine the three finalists: Episode 2 “Héctor has been happy since 3 o’clock”, Episode 3 “The shadows of María Isabel” and Episode 5 “Fer in Wonderland”.
These results were delivered to a jury made up of 3 expert professionals in different disciplinary areas for them to deliberate: Blanca Isabel Ramírez (Bachelor of Spanish), María del Pilar Hincapié (Social Communicator) and Carolina Restrepo (Speech Therapist), who were in charge of evaluating the results. different episodes taking into account aspects such as:
- Voice placement and ability to maintain it during the presentation.
- Quality of the timbre of the voice and interpretation of the character.
- Interpretive capacity of the author of the locution.
- Strengthening of literary content and personification.
- Psychological and emotional representation.
In this way, the jury determined that the winner of this contest was episode 5 “Fer in Wonderland”, which was characterized by the aforementioned elements. The award ceremony was held on May 9, 2022 through an Instagram live, where different LEAMOS organizations told how the process of developing this activity was and where they closed the celebration of the event on the day of the book, the language and the rights by revealing the long-awaited winner of this activity.
