The internship students of the Physiotherapy Program at the Popayán campus received support from Creciendo con Cami, a support center for motherhood and childhood, the first of its kind in the southwestern part of the country, which seeks to be present in each of the stages of the life cycle: pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, newborn care and parenting. This company created, since 2019, by professional health mothers, made up of two physiotherapists, a professional nurse and a pediatrician, is committed to generating a safe and humanized health service. These educational spaces allow students to strengthen and update themselves on health issues, expand the fields of action of the physiotherapist and improve the care provided to the community, not only from the healthcare field but also administrative.

Creciendo con Cami is the first support center for motherhood, family and childhood in the city of Popayán, it provides educational services and accompaniment of health professionals in each process of children’s lives and provides advice on nutrition complementary, advice on breastfeeding, pediatric first aid, psychoprophylactic course, education from 0 to 6 years, pediatric resuscitation, physical exercise for pregnant women and pediatric respiratory therapy.

In this way, the students of María Cano, in the capital of the department of Cauca, have more access to current issues that contribute to their professional growth, improve the vision of health and human well-being, while They recognize the importance of the human being from the moment of pregnancy and the first years of life, which are fundamental for the future development of the quality of life of each person.
