Ecological Walk to the Enchanted Lagoon

Institutional Welfare of the María Cano University Foundation, at the Medellín headquarters, led an ecological walk in the municipality of La Estrella, located south of the Aburrá Valley. The recreational, sports and cultural activity had the objective of recognizing the territory, appreciating biodiversity and generating awareness actions about the importance of caring for the environment to prevent situations that may affect the community. The group of walkers was made up of students, collaborators and professors of the Institution, who took every care to protect the natural resources of the Enchanted Lagoon in the El Romeral Nature Reserve.
The tour lasted 7 hours, which had a distance of 15 kilometers, along which they were able to appreciate the beauty and magic of nature, create an experience of connection based on the recognition of the other and reflect on the importance of take care of water resources.
With these spaces, the Institutional Welfare subsystem continues to promote healthy lifestyles, encouraging quality of life and the satisfaction of the participants, through physical activities that empower the entire university community. La María Cano will continue to carry out and lead different activities in the areas of health, sports, culture, human development and socio-economic promotion, in all the venues, at the national level.
