The +Mujer +Ciencia +Equidad Program is an initiative of the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI) and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, which, since its inception in 2021, has benefited more than 14,000 women in the national territory, from its training in STEAM topics (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths), with courses and diplomas that range from introduction to STEAM areas, formulation of research projects, to a second language (English and Portuguese).
The final objective of the call is to benefit women, who complete the requirements, with a paid internship at a national or international level for 6 months, which can be done as a job link to companies in different sectors or research internships in groups recognized by Minciencias. . These assignments take into account, in addition to the applicant’s profile, the transversal knowledge acquired during asynchronous learning through the online platform.
Two physiotherapists who graduated from the María Cano University Foundation, Neiva campus, are beneficiaries of the program: María Helena Audor González, who also currently works as a teacher at the campus, and Natali Rendón Galvez, who as of August 1 has started to her internship as a young researcher at the Autonomous University of Manizales in the Body and Movement research group.
During the fifth edition of the “Recognition of Good Practices in Sustainable Development” Award, the +Mujer +Ciencia +Equidad program was nominated and became one of the winning actions, thanks to its contribution to gender equality and empowerment. of the woman.
The María Cano University Foundation congratulates these two graduates for their effort and dedication; and we hope that more students and graduates continue to participate in these initiatives.
