- 26 septiembre, 2022

The Software Engineering program team, made up of Professor Richard Sánchez and students Andrés Felipe Tapias, Arin Daniel Pino and Deisy Alexandra Sayago, participated in the Latin American Innovation Rally 2022, supported in logistics by Professor Sandra Milena Álvarez and, at the level of specific knowledge in the technological area, by Professor Boris Mauricio Revelo, he came in third place in the social impact category with the mud avalanche challenge at the Creativity and Innovation Laboratory – UTB.
This is an international competition whose purpose is to promote open innovation in university students in Latin America, which was developed by teams for 28 consecutive hours on September 23 and 24, 2022. In this edition, the venues were able to work in person and /or virtual. The competition, on this occasion, proposed two products: solving challenges that consisted of real problems that required a creative solution, not being limited only to the technological field, and could be from various sectors of activities or social, environmental, organizational, artistic, logistical or otherwise; as well as a creative playful interaction between two teams from different countries or cultures.
The rally was developed with the following steps:
- Companies, NGOs and other institutions that propose challenges
- The teams elaborate and present creative solutions to the two products required in the competition
- The judges evaluate them
- The best solutions are distinguished
The María Cano University Foundation congratulates the Software Engineering team for this achievement, which increasingly strengthens the critical, creative and innovative thinking of the new professionals of the Institution.
