Commitment to health and wellness in Cali

As part of the celebration of World Mental Health Day, different awareness-raising activities on health care and the support that can be achieved in times of crisis and anxiety, when Adequate advice and care are sought. The presentation of the talk «Physical exercise and mental health» was carried out, where topics such as the importance of performing physical activity for the care of the integrity of people were addressed, as well as the recommendations provided by the World Health Organization Health for physical exercise by adults. The members of the María Cano community also carried out training and provided information on the need to include healthy habits and lifestyles in daily routines, which ratified the institutional commitment to community well-being and social projection in Valle del Cauca.
Similarly, the María Cano University Foundation carried out the Professionalization Circle, an academic and awareness-raising activity that allowed the strengthening of knowledge and work and sports practices in the members of the community. In this space, knowledge for the care of the worker in the environment was strengthened, the agents that impact the well-being of people were identified, while teaching about the contribution of hydrotherapy in the different pathologies, whether it is a physical preparation for surgical or postoperative intervention. Another of the topics presented was the importance of nutrition in sports processes, taking into account recovery or sports performance scenarios. The presentations were guided by physiotherapy professionals and nutritionists, who are of great support guaranteeing full and professional learning.
