The Higher Education Development Fund – FODESEP – met in the city of Bogotá with the new Vice Minister of Higher Education of Colombia, Aurora Vergara Figueroa, with the aim of presenting the work carried out in the different regions of the country, the regulations , the participation of the different HEIs in the country and the projection of the work to be carried out in the coming years to respond to the dynamics of the country and the proposals of the national government, in an articulated and coordinated work that benefits, at all times, the community. Rector Hugo Alberto Valencia Porras, in his capacity as a member of the Board of Directors, participated in this activity in which different topics were addressed, such as the challenges for recruiting new students to higher education, the expansion of the infrastructure of institutions academic studies, experience in projects for the access and permanence of young people and investment in quality projects.

The deputy minister informed the participants that among her priorities is the responsibility to work jointly and in a participatory manner with the plurality of actors in the system, in a constructive and listening dialogue, within the framework of the decalogue that has been indicated by the Presidency of the Republic, under the recognition of university autonomy and diversity.
