The María Cano University Foundation, with its headquarters in the capital of Cauca, is present at the fifth book fair, which is carried out in a hybrid way, with the development of face-to-face activities and transmitted through the website: https://2022 .ciudadlibro.com/ and the social networks of the fair. This academic work has national and international guests of high level and quality. The programming has been carried out continuously in the years 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021, through workshops, poetry recitals, reading clubs, book presentations, conferences, talks and musical groups will continue to be part of this literary festival through activities in the municipalities of Popayán, Timbio, Tunía, Santander de Quilichao and Silvia.

Popayán Ciudad Libro, is led by the Vice President for Culture and Welfare of the University of Cauca, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Mayor of Popayán. In addition, it has strategic allies such as the Banco de la República and different Higher Education Institutions that see this socialization strategy as an excellent way of approaching the community, through culture, education and narrative; In addition, it emphasizes promoting reading and writing in the Payan community, but also appeals to the idea of ​​offering citizens an alternative quality cultural programming.

This cultural and academic event is an inclusive space, which is directed from literary experts to housewives, from universities to college students, who in these spaces can find topics of interest; It is for this reason that there is the presence of theorists, poets, novelists and journalists who are a positive example to know the importance of reading and writing.

In this fair, participants and visitors can find training and pedagogical segments, academic and literary segments and the artistic segment in which musical groups and dance groups are presented. The María Cano University Foundation sees in this appointment with culture and education, an appropriate space to get closer to the inhabitants of this important and respected region of Colombia, while presenting the services offered by the Institution.
