Visit from the founder of Data Uruguay: expert in social and technological innovation

The María Cano University Foundation received Dr. Daniel Carranza, a consultant in digital communication and open government, who develops projects with the Uruguayan government, civil society and international organizations, and is also the founder of Data Uruguay, an organization whose mission is to contribute to a society fairer through the use of open data and civic technology, based on three pillars; social tools for the participation and use of open data, community strengthening and social activism.
The expert was invited by the Institution, within the framework of the First Meeting of Social and Technological Innovation, organized by María Cano, the National University of Colombia, Medellin, the Colegio Mayor de Antioquia University Institution, the Technological Institute of Sonora – ITSON of Mexico, the University of Sonora – UNISON of Mexico and the MEUNE Network.
In addition to attending the meeting on social innovation as a keynote speaker, this important international guest also participated in different meetings with the Academic Vice-Rector, Jorge Albeiro Herrera Builes, the Dean of the Faculty of Business Sciences, Marco Antonio Ruiz Correa, and the professor of the Institute Tecnológico de Sonora – México, Jorge Guadalupe Mendoza, institution with which different internationalization initiatives are being carried out that favor students and professors in their learning processes and academic development. Dr. Carranza also participated as a special guest in the International Business face-to-face class of the Business Administration program, which allows contributing to the internationalization of the knowledge of future professionals.
