The First Meeting on Social and Technological Innovation was held with excellent results, with the participation of the Faculty of Business Sciences of the María Cano University Foundation, the Business Administration program, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit and the Research group Add, thanks to the initiative of professor Ana María Pérez Naranjo and the support of professors Sara Melguizo Tamayo and Ricardo León Sánchez Arenas of the same academic program that has face-to-face modalities in the city of Medellín and virtual.

The event took place on November 3 and 4, 2022 at the National University of Colombia, Medellin, and students and professors from the Colegio Mayor de Antioquia University Institution, the Technological Institute of Sonora – ITSON de México, the Universidad of Sonora – UNISON of Mexico and the MEUNE Network. The meeting represented a space for discussion and reflection, around processes of innovation and social and technological development in Latin America, while facilitating the relationship between the University, the Company and the State, promoting programs aimed at solving problems from the generation of Social Innovation projects.

The activity included the participation of renowned national and international speakers, and was held in the case of Medellin, in the Samuel Melguizo Auditorium of the Faculty of Architecture of the National University of Colombia; in the case of Mexico, at the Technological Institute of Sonora, likewise, it had a live broadcast on YouTube. Initiatives like these promote internationalization, research, and relationships between students, professors, and directors of María Cano with their peers from other Latin American institutions.
