From Wednesday, November 30 to Monday, December 12 of the current year, the María Cano University Foundation. with the leadership of the Faculty of Health Sciences, is executing contract No. 4600014685 for the Government of Antioquia – Disability Management – whose purpose is the training and certification of the interdisciplinary team of the Disability Management to carry out assessments of support for people with disabilities – Law 1996 of 2019. The training lasts 48 hours, and is aimed at 26 public servants of the Disability Management of the Government of Antioquia from different disciplines, such as lawyers, speech therapists, physiotherapists and psychologists.

For the María Cano University Foundation, it is a great institutional commitment to make available to the Government of Antioquia all the human capital, the work experience throughout 35 years of service to the country and the knowledge on these issues, to provide conditions that improve the quality of life of all people highlighted by law 1996 of 2019. The training addresses theoretically and practically the specific measures to guarantee the right to full legal capacity of people with disabilities, adults, and tend to guarantee access to the support they need.

It is noteworthy that the teachers who are teaching the training and who are part of the #MásMaríaCano team are people with visual disabilities, legal professionals with extensive experience in the specific subject.
