Commitment to well-being in Valle del Cauca

At the María Cano University Foundation, Cali headquarters, the impacts of the territory continue to expand. On this occasion, meetings were held with the Oriente ESE Health Network, with the aim of continuing to promote the social impact in the community; In this first phase, the research committee of that institution approved the start of a social project that hopes to develop a model that predicts cardiovascular risk for the inhabitants of commune 21 of the city of Santiago de Cali, made up of the neighborhoods: Pízamos I, II and II, Las Dalias, Villa Mercedes, Calimío, Remansos de Comfandi, Ciudadela Desepaz, Compartir Urbanization, Ciudad Talanga, Community Projects, Coopopulares, Santa Ana, Las Dalias, Ciudadela del Río and Suerte 90.
The work will be based on the medical records of patients from the ESE Oriente during the last eight years, using artificial intelligence – AI techniques. Additionally, it is expected to consolidate this alliance in a second phase, with the subsequent signing of agreements to promote university internships for service teaching with Physiotherapy and Phonoaudiology programs in the capital of Valle del Cauca.
On its website, the Red de Salud Oriente ESE, highlights that it is committed to «Providing quality health services, considering the epidemiological profile, contributing to maintaining healthy and improving the quality of life of the population of the municipality of Santiago de Cali, guaranteeing social profitability, financial sustainability and social participation». Additionally, it announces that its quality objectives are based on: efficiently managing resources to be a sustainable institution, improving the efficiency and warmth of customer service, carrying out activities that promote the culture of customer service and community participation, strengthening the communication mechanisms, work for the well-being of collaborators, guaranteeing institutional development and improving productivity, quality and efficiency in the provision of the patient transfer service, contributing to the institutional positioning.
The María Cano University Foundation ratifies, once again, its commitment to the well-being of the communities in the different areas of the country in which it is present and that, for 35 years, care and support activities have been generated for the well-being, attention and accompaniment in the search for social well-being through higher education as one of the main platforms for equity and respect.
