With the community of Popayán

In commemoration of World Health Day and Children’s Day, the María Cano University Foundation at the Popayán headquarters with the El Portal de Las Ferias second stage community action board and the Pueblillo Community Action Board, carried out a recreation activity and health care, with the main objective of providing welfare, advice and protection services to the entire community in the capital of Cauca, carrying out different activities such as vaccination, listening center, psychology, social work, speech therapy with the otoscopy service and physical therapy with cardiovascular counseling. In the work carried out, pet sterilization actions were also carried out and the national police and the community management unit were accompanied to analyze the main problems and needs of the population.
This work, which is framed in the line of social projection of María Cano, had the support and concerted work of the Secretary of Health of the capital of Cauca, the presidents of the community action boards, the Colombian Army and the National Police, as well as professors and students from the university community, who gave their knowledge to provide support and accompaniment to the inhabitants of this area in the southwestern part of the country.
The María Cano University Foundation, through different actions at the Medellín, Cali, Neiva and Popayán campuses, is committed to community well-being, actively works with the authorities and associations to bring proposals and programs for care, protection, prevention and accompaniment in health to society, to guarantee the development of actions that ensure the improvement of the quality of life of the inhabitants of Colombia.
