From Cali research in physiotherapy

The teachers of the Cali campus, José Luis Estela Zape, Iris Lamar Zarama Tovar and Wilmer Arley Criollo López made an important contribution to the discipline, through the publication of the scientific article entitled «Respiratory physiotherapy and mechanical ventilation in the comprehensive management of patients with covid -19», published in the prestigious magazine Gaceta Médica de Caracas. In this study, the authors addressed the growing relevance of physiotherapeutic intervention in the management of patients with the disease, through an exhaustive review of the literature, which made it possible to support, with supported evidence, the improvement in critical patients, highlighting the role fundamental role of physiotherapy in lung function.
The research carried out by these experts makes it possible to demonstrate and support physiotherapeutic work as a key pillar in the comprehensive approach to patients with covid-19. Their findings provide a solid basis for the implementation of respiratory physiotherapy and mechanical ventilation strategies, thus contributing to improving the clinical outcomes and quality of life of patients affected by this acute respiratory disease.
