Chapter RECLA Colombia

With active institutional participation as part of the Executive Committee of the Latin American and European Continuing Education Network – RECLA, María Cano is part of the emerging RECLA Colombia Chapter that was launched at the University of La Sabana. This chapter’s main objective is to generate collaborative spaces for work, relationships and knowledge about the institutional commitments in terms of continuing education of the different universities that comprise it. In this way, it is intended that these spaces allow the construction of reliable, complementary and long-term institutional relationships. As well as generating a collaborative space that allows meeting the needs and challenges of the city and the country from continuing university education.
This inter-institutional work seeks to strengthen RECLA’s peer mentoring program at the Colombian level, with the goal of carrying out mobility among member Higher Education Institutions under the principle of reciprocity. It also hopes to position in local, regional and national spaces the importance of continuing education through different media to make the RECLA Colombia Chapter visible, before public entities and organizations: Ministry of Education and ASCUN, decision makers and policy makers. public that impact the continuing education sector; to be consulted as an expert in local, regional and national spaces where their expertise may be required.
Likewise, it seeks to build reliable, complementary and long-term institutional relationships, and attend to the needs and challenges of the city and the country from continuing university education. The event counted the presentation made by the Vice Chancellor of Extension and Social Projection of María Cano, Carlos Julio Escobar Noreña, on the relevance of the national and international association in this important line of University Extension of Continuing Education.
