In Panama City, the rector Hugo Alberto Valencia Porras, representing the Colombian Association of Higher Education Institutions, participates in the 20th Assembly of the Network of Latin American and Caribbean Associations of Private Universities – REALCUP, where the important topic is analyzed of educational innovation in Latin American and Caribbean institutions and their digital transformation. In the activity, all the associations that make up the network had the opportunity to make their presentations, giving an account of their realities and exposing the complexities of each country; In the case of Colombia, the rector of María Cano and president of ACIET made his presentation in which he analyzed the higher education issues that most concern the inhabitants of the country, such as: the statutory law through which the fundamental right to education and other provisions, the reform of Law 30 of 1992, the modification of Decree 1330 of 2019 that replaces Chapter 2 and deletes Chapter 7 of Title 3 of Part 5 of Book 2 of Decree 1075 of 2015 – Sole Regulation of the Education Sector and the Comprehensive Reform Law Project to ICETEX, among others.

It is important to note that on its website, REALCUP highlights that it was founded in 2016 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with support from UNESCO and is currently made up of 13 private university associations from 12 Latin American countries and the Caribbean.
