Commitment to the Public Policy of Rural Education

A day of dialogue and collaboration was held in the auditorium of the María Cano University Foundation, where the Institution received higher education organizations and institutions, normal schools from Santiago de Cali and Farallones, the Popular Institute of Culture I.P.C., as well as to representatives of ETDH and representatives of the municipal administration of the capital of Valle del Cauca.
The reason for this important meeting was the socialization of the Public Rural Education Policy (PPER) 2023 in its final version and the compilation of crucial contributions for implementation in the Special District of Cali. The PPER, developed with the coordination of the Ministry of Education and the Undersecretary of Quality, has successfully passed the required feasibility processing phases, paving the way for its presentation before the District Council. This step is essential to advance the formal adoption of the policy as an integral part of the current District Development Plan 2020-2023.
The María Cano University Foundation is proud to have been chosen as the meeting place for this important event, which reaffirms its commitment to education and community development in Cali. During the day, the need to establish solid alliances between the various entities convened, based on research, conceptual contributions and areas of support, was emphasized. These alliances will be crucial to ensure effective implementation of the PPER, which responds to the specific needs of the city’s rural educational communities.
Participants had the opportunity to share their expectations and proposals, which will significantly contribute to shaping the policy and ensuring its relevance and effectiveness in the rural context of Cali.
