Participation in a discussion about healthy habits in the workplace

The professor of the María Cano University Foundation, Sergio Alejandro Quijano Duarte, assigned to the Physiotherapy program of the Neiva headquarters, member of the Colombian Network of Physical Activity – REDCOLAF, participated in the discussion on healthy habits in the workplace, organized by the Health Secretariat of the municipality of Neiva from the dimension of healthy living and non-communicable conditions, an activity that took place in the Amparo Páramo auditorium of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Surcolombiana University; an important academic work that brought together teachers and students from different higher education institutions in the city to learn about the topic.
The academic activity was focused on promoting healthy habits and lifestyles as a tool to counteract the high rates of overweight and obesity, promoting the practice of physical activity, the importance of healthy eating, prevention of alcohol consumption and tobacco, the protection of 100% smoke-free spaces; for the benefit of health, well-being and quality of life; activating healthy ways, conditions and lifestyles, seeking to move towards healthy cities, environments and rural areas.
Participation in the discussion, by different professional speakers who work in the health area and with extensive experience in addressing the promotion of healthy habits and lifestyles, was essential and useful to rethink inadequate habits towards healthier decisions. The María Cano University Foundation, once again committed to the community, being a promoter of change and social transformation, by actively participating in activities that generate changes and well-being for the inhabitants of Colombia, covering regions, cultures and different ways of thinking. An Institution open to the world, which is inclusive in every sense.
