The students of the María Cano University Foundation at Cali headquarters experienced two days of enriching learning through academic meetings of professional practice. During the «Practice Professionalization Circle I, II and III» they were able to count on the presence of experienced work and sports practice advisors, who shared their valuable academic and professional history to increase the knowledge of those who advance their training in the health sciences programs.
On the first day, physical therapist Yorman Erazo highlighted the crucial importance of physical therapists in the return to work of injured workers, offering valuable guidance. In addition, a prominent nutritionist from Deportivo Cali shared fundamental principles of nutrition adapted to various sports disciplines, improving performance. The day concluded with a practical workshop on the management of trauma and immobilization and stretcher transfer in work and sports environments, which enriched the skills and training of the students. On the next day, Lizeth Melissa Bedoya Luligo, a physiotherapist with experience in pediatric and adult intensive care, analyzed disability from biomedical, biopsychosocial and cultural perspectives.
Then, Professor Julián David Cerón, physiotherapist, shared his experience in community practice in comprehensive health, emphasizing interdisciplinary work in the community.
