Students and professors from the Software Engineering program of the María Cano University Foundation will participate in the First Local Sumo Robotics Competition Meeting, in which delegations from the Salazar y Herrera University Institution, the Luis Amigó Catholic University, and the Gran Colombiano Polytechnic will participate. from the city of Medellín and María Cano; with the objective of exchanging knowledge and experiences of students in the development of their academic program in different modalities.

For the competition, we will work with autonomous mobile robots that have been developed in the academic and practical work of each of the institutions, simulating professional Sumo encounters, which is a combat sport and oriental martial art, which is characterized by fight, hand to hand, between two rivals, seeking to remove one of them from the confrontation zone, called dojo, a circle with a black background with a white border.

For the Software Engineering program directors, this work and relationship represents the possibility of demonstrating the quality of the work developed in the Institution by the attendees and participants of the Ingetecs Seedbed, which currently has a total of 18 members, who develop research, analysis, development and innovation activities during each academic semester. This work contributes directly to the consolidation and positioning of the Grintec research group, which is currently categorized in C by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, after call 894 of 2021.
