Presentation of educational innovation laboratory in health sciences

The María Cano University Foundation, Popayán headquarters, presented the ten new open digital educational resources that were developed in cooperative, interdisciplinary and inter-institutional work at the national level and with the support of Mexico, to deliver them to the service of the academic community through the innovation laboratory educational in health sciences programs; a work that was led with the support of the UNESCO Open Educational Movement Chair for Latin America of the Tecnológico de Monterrey, the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico and its UAEM Texcoco Center, the Autonomous University Corporation of Cauca and the Mariacanovirtual campus of the Institution.
For the María Cano research group, led by the professors: María Fernanda Ortiz Cabrera, Elizabeth Roldán González, Beatriz Elena Arias Vanegas, Luz Marina Chalapud Narváez and the coordinator Angélica María Zuluaga Calle, it is a source of pride to materialize the work of this unit academic, which in this first phase presents the results of the pilot carried out at the headquarters. In 36 years of existence, the Institution has achieved important achievements in each region where it is present with each teacher, with each student, with each family that has been linked to this dream of making the country what we dream of.
Each decade has had its own context, from the aspirations and needs of its students, to the availability of educational spaces, methods and pedagogies, teacher training, media, technology, stock of knowledge, and much more. However, in this presence of the María Cano that has characterized these 36 years of experience, the most important thing focuses on having achieved quality accreditation of 5 programs in which it can be said that the main axis that drives its initiatives and impact It is educational innovation, to ensure academic excellence. This educational innovation means being able to offer increasingly better solutions to the learning processes and training needs of each region, overcoming barriers considered difficult to break.
Bringing education to forgotten regions and distant places in times of great calamity, being in permanent connection despite the contingency to this day, which fills us with great pride to have this group of pioneering teachers who dared to go one step further. there and accepted the challenge of developing novel, creative and innovative educational resources, aimed at recreating situations and changing practices, with the ultimate objective of increasing the efficiency of the teaching-learning process, contributing to improving the student’s educational results; These innovations mediated by ICT and based on collaborative and interdisciplinary research and development processes, have been a wonderful experience, positively evaluated by teachers and mentors, which had the support and commitment of the technical and pedagogical team of Mariacanovirtual. The presentation ceremony was attended by the Director of Human Management and Administrative Director (e) Freddy Andrés España Pulido.
