The Popayán headquarters of the María Cano University Foundation was the scene of a meeting of leaders and representatives of different institutions in the department of Cauca in the academic, health and sports sectors, where opportunities are realized to generate a positive and sustainable impact in Cauca communities, demonstrating thus the transformative power of collaboration between key actors.
The meeting, which was attended by the Manager of the San José University Hospital, Dr. Juan Carlos Arteaga; the Manager of the ESE Suroccidente, Dr. Johnny Dávila; and the manager of the Departmental Sports Institute of Cauca INDEPORTES Cauca, Dr. Tayro Alexander López Gómez, marks the beginning of the search for joint opportunities for solutions to the needs of local communities.
The working group was led by the Academic Vice-Rector, Amilbia Palacios Córdoba, together with the coordinator of the Popayán headquarters, Angélica María Zuluaga Calle with her respective work team, where specific commitments were established to address priority issues, such as improving the medical care, the promotion of sports and the promotion of education, with a view to building a more prosperous and equitable future for all the inhabitants of the department.
Furthermore, this meeting not only represents an important inter-institutional cooperation, but also a tangible example of the shared commitment to the well-being and progress of the Cauca communities, reflecting a clear will to collaborate and a proactive approach towards the resolution of common challenges, laying the foundations for a fruitful collaboration that benefits not only the academic, health and sports sectors, but also the communities that depend on these institutions for their well-being and prosperous development.
