Academic Mission in Argentina

The Academic Vice-Rector of María Cano visited the Provincial University of Córdoba, with the purpose of identifying possibilities for collaborative work between both entities. During his stay he established dialogues about the structure of higher education in Argentina and Colombia, characteristics of the institutions’ structure and academic offerings, for which he met with the Rector of UPC Julia Oliva Cuneo, Daniel Artaza Vice Rector Normalizer, Jorge Jaimez Academic Secretary and of Postgraduate Studies, and María Laura Chauvet Director of Internationalization. Likewise, he participated in a dialogue about the Distance Education processes at the UPC where the regulatory and operational particularities of Distance Education in Argentina and the Distance and Virtual modalities in Colombia were reviewed.
With the leader of the comprehensive accessibility program Gabriela Migueltorena and Alexis Villagra, he shared the structure, lines of work and institutional approach of the UPC and from María Cano the inclusion policy and the «I love you at the U» program were socialized. In the meeting with Mariana Marini and Roberto Ipaguerre, director of the Institute of Management and Technological Innovation, the academic programs, the interaction with the productive sector for the design of new academic offerings and the professional practice processes were reviewed. In the meeting with the dean of the Faculty of Health and Education, the programs related to early childhood that exist in both institutions, state policies, and opportunities for research and collaborative work were emphasized. Likewise, with the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, Analía Tita and her team of teachers, a participatory dialogue was held around the objects of study of the faculty, the substantive functions of higher education and the role and profile of the teacher in the institutions.
The Vice-Rector also visited the Blas Pascal University, where she developed an agenda aimed at identifying actions related to educational innovation within the framework of the current agreement between both institutions, for which she met with the Rector Teresa Olivi, and the Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation and Postgraduate Studies, Pamela Cáceres and the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Eduardo Bavio, in this space reviewed the particularities of the Education systems of both countries and the references for accreditation.
Likewise, he held meetings with the work team of the Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation and Postgraduate Studies with the presence of the Secretary of Research and Development, Néstor Pisciotta; the Secretary of Postgraduate Studies, Flavia Galaverna; and the Director of Technological Liaison, Gabriela Digna; in a space in which they analyzed opportunities for joint work in research processes in the areas of business sciences and engineering as an opportunity to participate in international calls.
Finally, in this academic visit, trends in virtual and distance education were also reviewed and how pedagogical innovation for education in these modalities can be projected in both institutions, with the Director of Pedagogy, María Helena Saddi; the director of the Center for Applied Research and Development of Education (CIADE-ED), Valeria Moschetta; and the Secretary of Pedagogy and Academic Quality, Enrique Bambozzi. The final agreements of this meeting are aimed at promoting the participation of María Cano professors in the International Week to be held in the month of September, scheduling a meeting between the research leaders of both institutions to establish a joint work plan and socializing good practices and positive experiences in innovation and entrepreneurship, in a meeting between leaders.
