The Ministry of National Education issued Resolution No. 011223 of July 12, 2024, through which High Quality Accreditation is granted to the Physiotherapy program of the María Cano University Foundation at its headquarters in the capital of Huila.
The National Accreditation Council, in its comprehensive evaluation, after analyzing the self-evaluations carried out by the Institution and the external evaluation reports carried out by recognized academic peers who visited the program, recommended to the Ministry of National Education the accreditation of the Physiotherapy program in the city of Neiva, which demonstrates that it has achieved quality levels so that, in accordance with the governing standards, the High Quality Accreditation is granted.
The National Accreditation Council – CNA – exalted fundamental issues that highlight the actions of the Physiotherapy program in Huila and María Cano, such as:
- Serious, coherent and aligned work, strategically from the annualized action plan of the headquarters and programs with the Educational Project of the Programs, the Institutional Development Plan 2017 – 2026 “Building the Future” and the Institutional Educational Project .
- The processes of selection, qualification and retention of teaching talent that support the actions of the programs and growth in the ladder process.
- Dropout levels below the national average rate and the support program for the university community “I love you at the U”.
- The teaching-service agreements.
- The relationship with graduates and support in improvement processes.
- Results in Saber Pro state tests.
- Social projection through teaching, research and extension services, as well as well-being services, social research and health sessions that are accompanied in the different sectors of Neiva and the department of Huila, which benefit to the community of different social strata.
- Agreements with practice centers and strategic allies, always focused on social projection as the central axis of social projection.
- Continuous training, extension programs and the offer of postgraduate courses to advance the constant improvement of professionals.
- The work led by the Fisioter research group and the research incubators.
- Publications by professors and researchers that demonstrate the institutional and program visibility.
- The growing physical infrastructure, the acquisition and renewal of equipment to support academic training, laboratories, computer rooms and the different institutional settings for professional training.
- The internationalization of academic programs and participation in internships inside and outside the country.
- Institutional well-being coordinated at the national level.
- Impeccable management of the financial resources that support institutional actions.
The rector Hugo Alberto Valencia Porras, the vice-rectors Amilbia Palacios Córdoba, Carlos Julio Escobar Noreña and Freddy Andrés España Pulido; Dean Juanita Irina Sánchez Romero, and the headquarters coordinator, Diana María Salazar Rojas, express their great satisfaction with this recognition of the high quality of this Physiotherapy program, while ratifying the unwavering institutional commitment to quality.
The María Cano University Foundation has achieved accreditation of all the programs presented to the National Accreditation Council of Colombia and is currently working to present the initial conditions of institutional accreditation of the headquarters to continue contributing to growth and consolidation in the different regions of the country.
