APTIS is a multilevel test developed by experts from the British Council in language assessment and regulated by the UK Government’s Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual). It is also supported by the latest research in assessment. It provides reliable results that enable better decision-making regarding language training processes, benchmarking, or selection.

The 4-skills test is available in the following variants: Aptis General, Aptis for Teachers, Aptis for Teens, and Aptis Advanced.

Aptis General: assesses levels from A1 to B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Candidates who demonstrate a level above B2 are awarded a C on the CEFR.

Aptis for Teachers: is a general English exam adapted to the educational context and assesses up to level B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Candidates who demonstrate a level above B2 are awarded a C.

Aptis for Teens: assesses the same functional-notional content of the CEFR across different domains, using vocabulary and real-life situations aligned with the experiences of adolescents aged 13 to 17, and assesses up to level C1.

Aptis Advanced: assesses language proficiency from B1 to C2 on the CEFR.

We are administrators accredited by the British Council to deliver the Aptis test.

Preparation Course for the APTIS International Exam

This Aptis preparation course aims to equip the English language user with the knowledge of the exam structure and provide a guide on how to study effectively to achieve a more accurate score on the test.

Course Objectives:

• Learn how to identify and emotionally handle the uncertainty that arises when taking the exam.
• Understand the structure of the exam to have a clear idea of how to approach it.
• Develop exercises focusing on the different parts of the exam for autonomous training.
• Comprehend short texts with basic structures and vocabulary through reading techniques (skimming and scanning).
• Use basic structures and vocabulary to produce short formal and informal texts for writing and interaction tasks.
• Take practice tests that allow you to track your progress by the end of the course.

Includes: Preparation course for the exam and the Aptis test, which can be taken at any of the four campuses of Fundación Universitaria María Cano.
