Cultural Activities

The cultural activities of the language center are designed to encourage the use and appropriation of the English language within the university community of Fundación Universitaria María Cano at a national level. These activities involve the planning and implementation of cultural and recreational events that allow the practical application of English skills in real-time and/or asynchronous settings, both in-person and remotely. The goal is to help participants engage in real-life language situations with more ease and confidence.

Conversation Clubs

Through our conversation clubs, we aim to enhance participants’ skills to confidently engage in English conversations using various strategic expressions, based on their language proficiency level, with cooperative interlocutors.

• Monday 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Virtual English conversation club
• Wednesday 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. English reading and literature club
• Thursday 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Cultural activity for external audiences, business partnerships, and alumni.

Glocal World

Glocal World is a space where various cultural topics and knowledge about different cultures will be discussed. This platform allows us to explore our own context and others, understanding that realities can differ depending on the given context. Some of the topics to be covered include: food, music, celebrations, clothing styles, sports/activities, religion, culture, and famous personalities.
