Strengthening entrepreneurship in Neiva

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit at the Neiva campus strengthens ties with CIES SENA Huila to promote student entrepreneurship. As part of its commitment to fostering an entrepreneurial culture and strengthening business development, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit at the Neiva campus of Fundación Universitaria María Cano held a strategic meeting with the Business Development Center (CIES) SENA Huila. The purpose of this meeting was to learn about the services offered by CIES and to establish joint actions to boost student entrepreneurship in the region.
During the meeting, the main services of CIES SENA Huila were highlighted, including: advisory services for business creation through Other Sources of Financing (OFF) and the «Fondo Emprender» (FE), providing support to entrepreneurs in accessing financial resources to develop their business ideas. They also offer business strengthening advice, aimed at consolidating and growing established companies through management, innovation, and sustainability strategies.
The collaboration between both institutions aims to generate a positive impact on the academic community and the local entrepreneurial ecosystem, creating opportunities for new projects, job generation, and economic development in the region. In this way, Fundación Universitaria María Cano reaffirms its commitment to the comprehensive education of its students and the promotion of initiatives that contribute to social and business progress.
Representing SENA was SBDC Advisor William Fabián Bocanegra Sons, while Fundación Universitaria María Cano was represented by Leonardo Fabio Medina Ortiz, Manager of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit; Gladys Tamayo Perdomo, Research Leader; and Dolly Mildred Plazas Quintero, Entrepreneurship Professor.
