Start of Internships in Neiva
- 19 agosto, 2025

In an event filled with symbolism, emotion, and commitment, the María Cano University Foundation, Neiva campus, held for the first time an institutional ceremony to recognize and support the beginning of the internship process for students in the Physiotherapy and Speech Therapy programs.
The event took place in the campus auditorium and included the participation of administrators, faculty, administrative staff, and the students who are starting this new key stage in their professional training. The day was marked by inspiring messages that highlighted the importance of discipline, continuous learning, and ethics in the practice of health professions.
One of the most significant moments of the ceremony was the donning of the white coat for each student, a symbolic act representing their commitment to service, responsibility, and professional ethics. This gesture officially marked their transition to real practice settings, where they will apply the knowledge acquired in the classroom.
As part of the event, an experiential workshop was conducted, led by Magda Lorena Ureña Ramos, physiotherapist and psychologist, who guided the students through a deep reflection on the value of self-recognition, overcoming fears, and developing a resilient attitude towards challenges. Through participatory dynamics, attendees established individual and collective commitments to undertake their internships with responsibility, enthusiasm, and proactivity.
This initiative is part of María Cano’s institutional commitment to quality education, focused on the comprehensive support of students and strengthening the links between academic theory and professional practice.
Through these kinds of spaces, the institution reaffirms its purpose of training integral professionals, prepared to respond to the needs of their environment with a strong ethical sense and a vocation for service.
