As part of World Breastfeeding Week, final-semester students from the Speech-Language Pathology program at the Neiva campus of Fundación Universitaria María Cano, who are currently completing their professional internships at the Hernando Moncaleano Perdomo University Hospital, led a health outreach event aimed at promoting the numerous benefits of exclusive breastfeeding.
The activity, carried out through interactive workshops for breastfeeding mothers, addressed key topics such as infant nutrition, immune defense, orofacial and communicative development, as well as the strengthening of the emotional bond between mother and child.
These initiatives not only enhance the practical learning experience of future professionals, but also highlight the essential role of speech-language pathology in promoting health, supporting child well-being, and preventing potential difficulties in language and communication development in infants.
Through these efforts, the University Hospital and its students reaffirm their commitment to comprehensive and preventive care from the earliest stages of life.
